Polly & Andrew | DIY Garden Wedding

Polly & Andrew | DIY Garden Wedding

We had the pleasure of capturing the stunning wedding of Polly & Andrew who had the most incredible DIY garden wedding, following a beautiful church ceremony in South Yorkshire.

It was the loveliest kind of wedding where everyone treated us with warmth and affection, and we were made to feel part of the family throughout the whole day. (although perhaps it helps that we unloaded the dishwasher later in the day!)

Andrew was over at his mums house getting ready, which was a literal stones throw from the church, and where we took most of the group shots following the ceremony.
Polly and her bridesmaids got ready at her mums house in Huddersfield which is where the reception was to be held.

When I arrived, most of the garden had been set up and it looked amazing! Huge stretch tipi tents seemed to fit perfectly in the walled garden complete with fairy lights and rustic wooden pillars. The wooden chairs with their hessian sash completed the look perfectly and we were blown away. So much thought and detail had gone into the entire set up, from the gin table names, to the cake of cheese, and the balloons and their gin weights to the wedding favours (more gin!). The whole day was unique and reflected Polly & Andrew perfectly (they’re gin-aholics!).

We loved the relaxed home reception venue and got some great shots of people’s incredulous reactions to the magician the couple had hired. The group shots ended with the bride and groom being picked up and held laying out sideways, and the best men’s speech, in it’s rhyming verses was unrivalled.

It was a joy to be a part of Mr & Mrs Buckingham’s special day and was entertaining from start to finish. Take a look at some highlights of their day below:
